. . . for another year at least. I had my full body PET scan with nuclear contrast (you should see the container they bring that stuff out in – looks like a mini reactor container; I expected to see a fog of dry ice mist float out when they opened it up) last Friday. I admit to more than a few morbid thoughts while waiting for the results. Dr. K, champ that he is, emailed me the good news as soon as the results came in today:
“The recent PET scans are all clean!! (the residual right thyroid lobe shows some uptake but that is just due to the thyroiditis that we identified at the time of your surgery to remove the left lobe---not due to a mass or tumor).”
Short, but oh so sweet!
The only thing that tempers celebration is the recent news from an old friend whose remission has failed and is now fiercely battling metastases. Damn this disease to hell. Miracles, do your stuff.
